Rushes Logs combine the details of many rushes into a log which can be exported to a Word document (.docx).
The log consists of several media (video and audio) files and is displayed in two columns - the left column being the file name of the media, and the right column being the meta data of the media (description, tags, transcription, etc).
When the transcript information is brought in, it can be grouped into segments of a certain maximum length for each speaker - this is specified when adding media to the log.
You will notice that there are two time codes included in the rushes log:
12:35:14.88 (0:00:04.88) - Speaker name - transcribed text here…
The first time code is the actual time of day the footage was recorded and the second (in brackets) is the time since the beginning of the media. Sometimes the time of day information is not automatically included in the original footage; in this case to two time codes will be the same. You can edit the start date/time in the media item.
A new rushes log can only be created from the media grid, or the media item detail page. Select Add to Rushes Log from the Action menu. From the dialog toggle the Use existing rushes log option, provide a name and select your preferred options, then click Add to Rushes Log.
You can add media to a rushes log from the rushes log by clicking the + Add button when viewing a log. From the dialog select the media item and your preferred options, then click Add Item.
Alternatively, from the media grid or on the media item detail page select Add to Rushes Log from the Action menu. From the dialog select the existing log and your preferred options, then click Add to Rushes Log.
Click to highlight the log item row and click the Edit button (alternatively double-click the item). The editing dialog opens and you can edit the text of the log item. Click Save to save your changes or the X to close without saving.
Click the camera icon to show the video/audio in a pane to the right of text.
Click to highlight one or more rows, then click the Delete button. In the dialog click the Delete button to confirm.
You can delete the entire Rushes Log from the list view.
Click the Collapse All button to reduce the description to one line of text. This makes it easier to re-order items by dragging rows.
Click the Expand All button to show all information.
Collapse/Expand individual rows by clicking the icon on the right side of the row item.
Easily change the order of the row items by dragging the row item using icon on the left side of the row item.
The contents of the Rushes Log can be exported to Word (.docx format) by clicking Export to Word at the top of the Rushes Log. Confirm by clicking the Download button in the dialog.
